Filming for the movie “(Des)controle”, directed by Rosane Svartman and co-directed by Carol Minêm, has finished in Rio de Janeiro after five weeks of shooting. The film, produced by Iafa Britz and Migdal Filmes, used real locations around the city to create the daily routine of writer Kátia Klein, played by Carolina Dieckmann. Scenes were shot in the Jardim Botânico, Botafogo, Tijuca, Grajaú and Grumari areas.

According to director Rosane Svartman, it was important to tell the story of a woman with alcoholism, giving visibility to how this disease affects the lives of those who don’t have control over their drinking or can’t drink socially, and how it affects their family and environment. Co-director Carol Minêm adds that the film aims to show that the social life of Brazilians is heavily centered around drinking, making the story relatable to many people.

The main cast includes Irene Ravache and Daniel Filho, who play Kátia’s parents; Caco Ciocler, who plays her husband; and Júlia Rabello, her best friend and agent. Stefano Agostini and R are also part of the main cast.
